Aitaren Boulevard “Sin Huella” Award 2025

A piece of news that fills us with emotion and pride: Aitaren Boulevard has been recognised with the Basque Country regional award at the 2nd edition of the “Sin Huella” Awards gala for the Hospitality Industry #PorElClima, making us the only restaurant in the Basque Country to receive an award for our commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change.

On 21 May, at an emotional event held in Madrid, we were honoured to receive this award, which recognises our firm commitment to a more environmentally-friendly hospitality model. The “Sin Huella” Awards, organised by Hostelería #PorElClima -an initiative of Coca-Cola and Comunidad #PorElClima with the support of Hostelería de España-, distinguish those establishments that have made a firm commitment to act against climate change in the hospitality sector.

This recognition takes on special significance for us, not only because we are the only restaurant in the Basque Country to receive it in this edition, but also because it reflects the constant work we have been doing for some time to minimise our environmental impact without renouncing the gastronomic excellence that characterises us.

Sustainable measures that make a difference.
Our award is no accident. Since our opening, we have implemented a series of sustainable measures ranging from small, everyday gestures to significant investments in green technology. Among the actions we are most proud of are:

Energy Efficiency: We have installed state-of-the-art appliances in our kitchen with the highest energy certification, low consumption LED lighting and we have optimised our air conditioning system to avoid heat or cold losses, depending on the time of year, every time the doors are opened, a seemingly simple measure but with a significant impact on our energy consumption.

Commitment to Local: We prioritise the use of local and organic products in our products, thus reducing the carbon footprint associated with transport and supporting producers in our region.

Responsible Water Management: We have incorporated flow reducers in our facilities, allowing a more efficient use of this valuable resource.

Recycling and Waste Management: We maintain a comprehensive waste separation and recycling system that allows us to manage our waste responsibly and efficiently.

Aitaren Boulevard se suma así a una red nacional de más de 14.700 establecimientos adheridos a Hostelería #PorElClima, que han puesto en marcha más de 235.000 acciones para reducir emisiones desde la creación de esta iniciativa en 2017. Como señala Carmen Gómez-Acebo, directora de Sostenibilidad de Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Iberia: “La hostelería española, además de ser un referente a nivel europeo por su excelencia como sector, también cuenta con un gran potencial para concienciar y actuar contra el cambio climático”.
